Home again, home again after the World Internet Summit UK, tired but inspired, energised and enthused. I could list the remaining two days worth of speakers, but decided that it would be more interesting (I hope!) to list my main objectives for going to the Summit, and summarise what I actually got from the it along with my immediate action plan. So here goes...
My goals for going to the World Internet Summit were to re-focus, re-energise, learn from the experts and to network generally. I'm glad to say that these have all been accomplished and some! I have had four days of so many lightbulb moments that on occasions I felt like there were fireworks going off in my head, and I have a much clearer idea of where I am going with this, both short and long term. I also networked my little butt off, and had the hangovers to prove it! Here are the main moments for me from each day:
Thursday
Halfway through the day I had my first big realisation: I really can do this, I have the knowledge and the tools, and the only thing that's held me back till now has been me. Not no more!
Friday
Whilst listening to Morgan Westermann talking about Buzz marketing and membership sites, I had a lightbulb moment about what I would like to work with him on. It won't be until next year as I have training to complete before I can develop my product, but I have a clear idea of where I'm going with this one- yeah!
Saturday
I realised that I have already accomplished loads and made a modest sum of money online! A bad habit of mine in the past has been to concentrate on what I haven't done rather than what I have, and I have taken consistent action and moved forwards since deciding on Internet Marketing as one of my sources of income. They may have been baby steps instead of massive leaps, but they are all in the right direction and gaining in momentum. How exciting is that?!
Sunday
Watching John Childers presentation, I realised that speaking is definitely something I would like to do in the future. I have too many commitments to make it to his training this year, so it's another thing on my list for next year - at this rate next year will be just as manic as this is turning out to be, but that's no bad thing! Mind you, I already have some speaker training coming up in a couple of weeks, so I may yet be on a stage near you before you know it...
And so to my immediate action plan: work some changes into this blog, and re-write my offline business website, www.sj-computers.co.uk to start list building at the very least. These will be little tiny baby steps as the next month is almost totally dedicated to Money Gym, NLP Practitioner and Master Speaker training, but after that, watch me fly!
Now I wonder if I can make it to the World Internet Summit in the USA next and make it three in a row?
