No, not the new series on TV, for my fellow Lost addicts out there - what is going on on that island?! Nope, this is a little more personal... For the past few weeks I've been lost on my little journey of life. I got distracted from the path by various external and internal factors, and was wandering around aimlessly, off course and not a little confused. Strangely enough, I didn't even realise that that was what had happened until I listened to a call from the Mindset Mastery Virtual Bootcamp. This call was with Chris and Janet Attwood, who talked about following your passion.
It was a gentle and timely slap round the face for me!
I had completely forgotten where I was going, and that was why I had gotten lost. I had forgotten what my passion was and why I'd set off on this journey in the first place: in simple terms, I want to fix people instead of computers! I like people much more, and if it's satisfying to help them in a small way by fixing their tools for them, how much more amazing is it to help them to "fix" themselves? So why was I distracted by stuff that I'm not passionate about? Is it because it's scary to face massive changes in your life, and easy to go back to what you know, your comfort zone? Is it just that I want to grab every opportunity with both hands, and need to learn how to focus on one or two at a time?
I don't know for sure, and suspect it is a combination of factors, as are most things. The important thing is that I've found my way again. Not so much of a "light-bulb" moment as a "duh, what were you thinking?!" moment! Chris and Janet talked about finding your passions and getting clear about them, for clarity is power. Whenever you are faced with a choice, decision or opportunity, choose in favour of your passion. It's so simple, really!
So a big thank you to the Mindset Mastery Virtual Bootcamp, and to Chris and Janet, for helping me to find my way. I choose to continue my journey, and I choose to follow my passion!
