Blimey what a week it's been - I hardly know where to start!
I spent three days last week coaching on the latest Inner Compass NLP Practitioner training, which was a fantastic experience. It was wonderful to have the chance to "put something back", having had such great help from other coaches whilst going through my own training. I also learned a huge amount, from stretching myself to coach people through their tests without actually giving them the answers, to re-visiting and re-learning some of the NLP tools and techniques. It was also great fun, and lovely to meet up with some of the amazing people who have been a part of my journey to date. The only down side was not being able to stay for the entire course, as I had another training course to go to at the weekend...
Saturday morning I was up bright and early to catch the bus into London for the Investment Mastery training workshop. This was all about some of the strategies that can be used to invest in the stock market, with the potential to earn 3%+ returns per month. That's per month, not per year, so seriously better than the usual interest you'll earn on any savings account, not to mention various other investment vehicles. We learnt strategies for making money on markets whether going up, down or sideways, which is kind of handy as they do all three! Marcus de Maria who runs the workshop is fantastic at simplifying and de-mystifying the whole subject, and the best thing for me is that there is follow-on support after the workshop, with weekly teleconferences and monthly meetings where you can discuss things with fellow investors, plus have the opportunity to ask those daft questions to clarify things again after you look back at your notes and think, "Now how did we do this again?!".
Marcus also encouraged us to network with each other, partly for support, and partly so that we can leverage our time: with several of us in our own "club", we have far less stocks to keep an eye on for potential than if we were trying to do it all for ourselves. Of course this was easy for some of us, as a couple of my fellow Money Gym'ers were on the course too: the fabulous Debbie Bissett, an incredibly dynamic lady who certainly doesn't hesitate to "walk her walk", and Vanessa Bsirsky, the new Queen of MySpace (I'll be after her for some tips soon!).
I'm still undecided about whether I will be making this one of my major income streams for a little while, as my focus at the moment is to concentrate on growing my therapy business. The good news is that there are strategies that take little time to implement, and I'll certainly be playing with virtual trading now that I know how to, just to see if I have a knack for this or not. Who knows, maybe I'll be giving Warren Buffett a run for his money one of these days!
